yeah, so that actually IS my arm..but after they squised it back together. In official terms they call that "post reduction"..i call it hurting like a mofo!
Before they pushed the broken part back together, the bones were at angles from each other.
more like this..though this is not my arm..We went to the real ortho today. Same guy, Barry, that took care of Garin when he punched the wall in January. Bedside manner of a toad says Rye, but good with wrapping boo boos says I. Now this conversation is aperfect example of what medical care is in our country.
DOC: This is a bad break. you really need surgury for this. You need a rod in there..otherwise you will have less range of motion, your shoulder will freeze up.
ME: Yeah, well we are part of the growing group of millions of American's who have no health insurance.
DOC: oh.
yep, thanks to the shrub...i get subpar treatment..shrubpar....lol..not.
Really, its a amazing feeling..when you realize that you get treated lesser due to lack of money..not your worth as a human..not that we give people the best medical care there is, but the most they can afford.
So, far from the favored steel rod surgery that would make my arm straight and strong, I got wrapped up in cotton gauze, fiberglass, and Ace bandages again. I feel like humpty dumpty. I feel not good enough again. Not worth it.
Damn thing still hurts. Very uncomfortable. Now I am coughing from not smoking..ohhhh that really shakes up my bones. And I get muscle spasms.
The good news is, Barry the bone guy, after moping coz he can't stick metal in me, said I can go to DC for the conferance.
omg! so i am looking up this dumb bone that i busted..and wow..bad bone...look at all these terrible stories..man, i thought an 8 week heal time was long...this is looking like...new year?? I think this makes me offically done with the resturant business?..hmmmmm
