Twenty five miles away...

That's how far away he is from me right now phyically. One day and twenty five miles. The ride up today was good. Decent weather. I bonded with my rental, appropiately nick named "adventure car" as we are on an adventure together. The thing drove very nicely..it likes to go 80,so we are pals as so do I. Even though I hit the road late, as the kids had a two hour delay, I got to the hotel right on time. I did have some "moments" on the road. The feeling of surreal continues, yet...at moments such clarity. How many times have I paste the exit to the Mass Pike and yearned to make this trip? It was very fullfilling to know this time what was at the end, that I could give in to this yearning. I put on Tom Petty's Wildflowers CD first: "Time to move on, Time to get going, what lies ahead I have no way of knowing, Yeah..that pretty much said it all! Went to the first two workshops at the hotel. People were still trying to get there, plus there was some confusion as they changed the facilities from another building to the hotel proper at the last minute due to the cold. Still, lots of familer faces. I recognized many people from the St. Barts Conference last year. The funny part..if my hair was red like then, then they would have recognized me!! And I got to finailly meet Kelly aka Zorro which was way cool too. It was funny..people were very "ohhhh" and "ahhh" over my going to met Max tomorrow. But surprised that I was just going alone to see him?? And they would ask, "who is going with you? Don't you have support?" and I was like...yeah, I'm here..what else do I need?? I don't need someone to hold my hand when I do it, hough maybe a photographer would be cool, but I want to have the time to process it afterwards and have others be thirlled for me..so what better place than a conference? I have to say that one of themost touching things..one woman, whose name I DO have written down but I am too lazy to get up and look for, did make a point of saying to me "Have you heard of GSA"? And of course I am aware of that, but you know what..she was dead right on to bring it up..and if I was not aware of the issue, then I sure as hell should be. I applaud her making sure that a stranger had the very important tools needed to navigate this stuff. I met up with my brother at his house about 20 miles south. We went and had a great Indian Dinner..which alway makes me happy as I love indian and we don't have good cheap indian by me. I just dig hanging out with my brother anyway. We know the stories that only we can laugh at. Though if he talks one more time like Grandpa I might have to deck him. I was very amazed to see his insane collection of minature metal fiqureines that he makes and delicatly paints. They are some odd dungon and drangons like game ..from France..but these things are way cool looking. And he has a whole bunch, like all over..they even have a special cabinate just for them.He has won contests for them. I was amazed. I never knew. He dropped my Montel tape on the floor and it broke! It still works though and he is trying to fix it. I think he feels bad. He laughed at Montel too. Ten we talked long time about how weird our family was/is. Its funny coz as much as I don't know..he knows even less. I am his memory for many things as I am 12 yeras older. And now..I am very tired and going to bed. I have a big day tomorrow!! Oh, I have totally driven though te damn town he grew up at. I am SO right here. Passed Newton where I was while PG...uggg..so back in the past!!
